Welcome to 968 baby taricaya turtles!

We're proud to say that 968 baby taricaya turtles hatched in our turtle nursery this week!

During June, July and August this past year, we collected turtle eggs from the beaches of the Tapiche Reserve and re-buried them on the beach in front of our lodge to protect them from poachers. The first wave of babies has hatched this week, and we've counted 968! This is a great start to the season, and we look forward to adding more to our baby turtle pond as the weeks progress!
