Turtle Rescue Project Update, 3 Sept 2020: The Nursery

We’ve finished constructing our artificial pool for the new arrival of 136 baby turtles. The wire net is to protect from multiple natural predators that find easy prey here. Last year we had herons, opossum, hawks, spiny rats, and snakes preying on the baby turtles. Every year we make improvements, and we're hoping the improved security helps to reduce casualties.
