Turtle Rescue Project Update, 15 July 2020
After a week of heavy rains and a day or two of sunshine to dry and soften the sand on the beaches, the turtles have been flocking to lay their eggs in all possible nooks and crannies along the Tapiche River at the Tapiche Reserve. The work of collecting the eggs and caring for the nursery boxes at the lodge is demanding and intense, even more so because we had to cut expenses and cannot afford to employ our local staff due to the pandemic.
